My name is Frank Jennings and I am the founder and one of the writers at A Spark Starts. In order to appropriately prepare you for what you are about to experience, I think I owe it to you to tell you a little bit about myself.  I currently reside in Fishers, Indiana where I work as a stock broker for a major discount brokerage. I have a seven year old son whose energy and passion consumes my attention and a wife whose beauty and love demands it.  There are so many things that  I enjoy doing so I will give you the short list to save time. I love to write, read, play basketball, play video games and hang out with my friends and family.

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where I attended what was considered one of the worst high schools in the city. After graduation I enrolled at the University of Michigan where I completed a full two semesters before I was forced to drop out due to lack of funds. Within the next few years I married my high school sweetheart. Without a college degree I spent several years working in retail where I was somewhat successful. In an attempt to earn more I joined almost every pyramid scheme that existed.

These errors in judgment cost me a lot of time and money but in return they did give me a passion for reading and writing. With my new passion I aggressively studied every aspect of personal finance and investing using the free resources at the library and book stores. My personally acquired knowledge of the investment industry allowed me to network with people who worked in the industry and I was eventually given the opportunity to interview to become an investment adviser and was hired for the job.

Through this company I was allowed to get my brokerage and advisory license. I found out quickly there after it was an aggressive sales position. I wanted to teach people how to invest not sell unsuitable investments to maximize my commissions. So, I relinquished my role and became a stock broker and love it. On top of my career, I am a member of Faith Apostolic Church of Carmel. My favorite aspect of my church is Missions department which is committed to changing the world. They have built orphanages, started churches, and given to those who truly are in need.

My personal experience is my main motivation to write inspiring stories. I am in no way a mental health expert, no matter how much I try to pretend like I am one. 🙂 All I can say, in my short time here on this planet, I have gone through some really tough character building situations. I have been fired. I have been broke. I have been lost. I have been consumed by fear. Even through all of these cycles of life I was able to maintain a positive attitude and outlook on life. For some odd reason I always seeked the rainbow that comes after the storm.

Although when I write I am extremely focused and serious, I am the complete opposite in person. I am a nut. Whenever I am in a group of people I am the guy who always “attempts” to make everyone laugh. Luckily most of the time I am successful. If I wasn’t that would make for some really odd personal interactions.

Life has been an excellent journey so far and I am glad to drag you along for the ride. My family is my peace and my purpose and without them I am useless. After reading this I now consider you a part of my family. Please send me birthday, Christmas and random gifts. 🙂

It was a pleasure meeting you.
